This guide explains exactly how your organisation can access full LDSS funding for CareTutor’s Skills for Care leadership programmes and CPD courses.

How to Claim Skills for Care LDSS Funding

Step-by-step guidance for CareTutor Leadership Programmes & CPD Courses (2025/26)

The Learning and Development Support Scheme (LDSS) provides full funding for eligible adult social care employers in England to develop their leaders and managers. Follow the steps below to make sure your organisation can claim successfully.

Check Eligibility

Your organisation must:

✓ Provide adult social care in England

✓ Have an active ASC-WDS account (Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set)

✓ Have updated at least 90% of staff records within the last 12 months

✓ Be registered as an employer (not an individual learner)

Sign Up to the CareTutor Programme

Choose your course and submit a booking: • Lead to Succeed • Well-Led • Leading Change Improving Care (LCIC) • Skills for Care CPD modules Understanding Performance Management Understanding Self-Management Skills Understanding Workplace Culture Once your place is confirmed, you will receive: ✓ A booking confirmation ✓ Your invoice (required for your funding claim) ✓ Course dates and joining instructions

Submit Your Onboarding Form

Every employer must submit an Onboarding form to access funding. Onboarding link (NHSBSA Digital Claims Service): https://online1.snapsurveys.com/Interview/d7ae4538-4f3d-4090-ab7b-590351e41991

Information you’ll need:

• Organisation name • ASC-WDS workplace ID • Contact details for the person submitting claims You only need to do this once per funding year.

Ensure Your ASC-WDS Record Is Up to Date

Before submitting a funding claim, ensure that: • 90%+ of staff records are up to date • Mandatory fields are completed (hours, roles, start dates, etc.) • Your workplace details are correct NHSBSA cross-checks your ASC-WDS status before paying claims.

Attend the Programme in Full

Skills for Care requires 100% attendance for: • All modules in Lead to Succeed • All modules in Well-Led • All modules + project components for LCIC • Full attendance for each CPD module CareTutor will record attendance and issue: ✓ An official Skills for Care certificate ✓ A course completion confirmation ✓ Your paid invoice (required for reimbursement)

Submit Your Funding Claim (Digital Claims Service)

You will need:

  1. Invoice (from CareTutor)
  2. Proof of Payment (bank remittance or screenshot)
  3. Skills for Care Certificate (issued on completion) If you have questions or concerns regarding the timeframes to claim, or any other query relating to the LDSS, please email asclearninganddevelopmentsupport@nhsbsa.nhs.uk
Receive Reimbursement

Reimbursement is paid directly to your organisation by NHSBSA. 2025/26 LDSS reimbursement rates: • £525 per learner for Lead to Succeed • £525 per learner for Well-Led • £525 per learner for LCIC • £135 per learner for each CPD module You can claim for multiple learners and multiple programmes.

Keep Evidence for Audit

NHSBSA may request additional checks. Keep: • Attendance records • Certificates • Paid invoice • Payment remittance • ASC-WDS confirmation CareTutor stores digital attendance and certificates in your Pathway LMS for easy access during audits or inspections.
